Central are currently recruiting for the role of Production Supervisor for our client’s construction site in Gateshead.

Our client is one of the largest timber production companies in the UK, producing high quality, British sawn timber for construction, pallet production, fencing and agricultural sectors, as well as supplying timber joists to some of the UK’s leading housing builders.

The successful client will work on a variety of projects at their Gateshead site. Experience in the field is essential, however, full training will be provided on site.

Due to the nature of the role, candidates must be over 18 years of age.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Utilising available resources, allocating and distributing tasks to ensure company KPI’s are met.
  • Undertaking daily health and safety checks to ensure full compliance.
  • Maintaining and communicating all operations procedures to colleagues.
  • Updating training files and the training matrix.
  • Carrying out stock checks.
  • Accident investigation.
  • Understanding of onsite production processes.
  • Completing quality checks.
  • Shift reports, HR and Health and Safety reports.
  • Completing Return to Work interviews.
  • Involvement in disciplinary procedures.

Successful candidates must have:

  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing process systems.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft office packages.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels, internally and externally, verbal and written.
  • Practical understanding of Health and Safety.
  • Well organised and flexible approach.
  • Driver license is preferred.
