Central Employment are delighted to be working with a leading and hugely successful eCommerce Retail organisation, as they look to recruit a Mid-Senior Magento Developer. 

My client is looking for an expert in their field who is keen to hit the ground running with in-house web development projects, including a mix of new features, improvements and bug fixes as well as bigger projects. You’ll be maintaining the current portfolio of e-commerce stores and also be involved in longer term projects that will help the company grow.

The role is fully remote with monthly visits to the Head Office in Gateshead. 

Responsibilities of the Mid-Senior Magento Developer: 

  • Implementing new features and fixing bugs for the current portfolio of eCommerce stores
  • Maintaining and optimising infrastructure to provide best performance across all stores
  • Carrying out regular deployments ensuring stability is top priority
  • Carrying out regular code reviews
  • Implementing integrations between Magento, our in-house systems and 3rd
  • Party services Building bespoke modules to accomplish business requirements
  • Providing estimates for scope of work
  • Carrying out stringent testing on all sites and projects ensuring effective functionality is maintained and no new issues are introduced
  • Using industry insight and initiative to discover new ways to improve the current store’s portfolio
  • Providing support for the in-house team with technical queries and troubleshooting current stores’ portfolio
  • Mentoring junior team members

Key skills we’re looking for:

At least 5 years of experience working with Magento 2. Git/Bitbucket account with examples of your work would be very beneficial.

  • Expert knowledge of Magento 2 Full Stack (Adobe Commerce Cloud)
  • Expert knowledge of PHP, MySQL and APIs (REST/GraphQL)
  • Strong knowledge of Redis, Caching (Fastly) and RabbitMQ
  • Strong knowledge of website performance optimisation and security best practices
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Strong coding standards and methodologies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Eager to learn and passionate about web technologies

You’ll stand out if you have any of the following:

  • Magento 2 Certification
  • Experience with New Relic
