QUALITY SHIFT INSPECTOR
Location: Sedgefield
The Quality Shift inspector is responsible for monitoring and recording daily quality inspections, and ensures all products meet the requirements and standards agreed with our customers on a day-to-day basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for visually checking the quality of product against the customer specification every 3 hours
- First off check and sample sign off in conjunction with Shift Manager and Senior setters
- To take regular samples throughout the shift ensuring all samples are labelled correctly with all required information.
- On delivery of raw material carryout check immediately.
- Weekly GMP audit as per schedule and check if corrective actions have been completed
- Inspect and verify packing format against specification/colour cards, labels and paperwork are correct.
- Check extruded sheet is correct specification, colour and labelled correctly.
- Ensure colour cards are compiled, reviewed, and correspond with product.
- Participate and oversee the sorting of any finished goods returned or put on hold (external and internal.
- In the absence of Senior Technician or change to production plan print new labels and job packs.
- Close out on IT system completed job packs and archive correctly.
- Ensure metal detector checks are being carried out correctly; any issues to be reported to Shift Supervisor & Senior Quality Technician.
- Production line on hold if major non-compliance of specifications and inform the Shift Manager immediately.
- Complete all required paperwork in line with internal procedures and maintain inspection journals and daily summary logs.
- Make sure that the QA hold area is under control all stocks include a hold label with information.
- Police and ensure ‘clean as you go’ and hygiene policy are carried out by all entering production hall.
- Ensure comprehensive handover and cover of holidays/absence is shared throughout the team.

Salary: Starting hourly rate £12.10 moving to £12.36 when fully trained per hour (£26,994)
Overtime: Overtime is paid at 1.25 rate.
Hours of work: Initially dayshift moving to 24/7 pattern, alternating 07.00–19.00 and 19.00 –07.00 on a 3 on 3 off 12-hour shift pattern
Holidays: 24 days inclusive bank holidays
On-site parking
