Supply Chain Assistant

FMCG Manufacturing | Full Time | Office Based

Are you looking to build your career in supply chain and procurement within a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment? We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Supply Chain Assistant to join our growing team and play a key role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials across the business.

Working closely with Purchasing, Planning, Production, Warehousing, Quality, Finance and external suppliers, you'll support the day-to-day supply chain operation, helping to maintain stock availability, process purchase orders, monitor supplier performance and minimise the risk of production delays.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 12-18 months' experience in a supply chain, purchasing, procurement or planning role who is looking to develop their career within a successful and expanding manufacturing business.

The Role

As Supply Chain Assistant, you will provide vital support across the end-to-end supply chain function, ensuring materials and components are available to meet production requirements while maintaining accurate system data and supplier records.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Raising and processing purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitoring stock levels and helping maintain appropriate inventory levels.
  • Tracking supplier deliveries and following up on overdue orders.
  • Supporting the planning team with material availability and production requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate supplier, product and purchasing records within SAP.
  • Assisting with supplier performance reporting, including delivery, quality and service metrics.
  • Investigating supply issues and escalating potential shortages or delays.
  • Liaising with warehousing and production teams regarding stock movements and material requirements.
  • Supporting stock reconciliations, inventory audits and cycle counts.
  • Assisting with demand forecasting and inventory planning activities.
  • Producing reports and analysing supply chain data to identify potential risks and improvements.
  • Building effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

About You

We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and has a genuine interest in supply chain operations.

Essential Requirements

  • 12-18 months' experience within a Supply Chain, Purchasing, Procurement, Planning, Inventory or Manufacturing Support role.
  • Experience of using SAP ERP or a similar ERP/MRP system.
  • Strong Excel and data management skills.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving and prioritisation.
  • Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders and managing competing priorities.

Desirable

  • Experience within an FMCG, food manufacturing, pharmaceutical or high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of stock control, inventory management and purchasing processes.
  • Knowledge of supplier performance metrics and inventory reporting.
  • Exposure to demand planning or production planning activities.
