We're partnering with a growing SME FMCG retailer that is investing heavily in its eCommerce function and looking to appoint a Senior eCommerce Trading Merchandiser to play a pivotal role in driving online sales performance.
This is an opportunity for a commercially minded eCommerce professional who thrives on data, understands digital trading cycles, and knows how to turn insights into revenue growth. You'll be responsible for analysing performance, identifying opportunities, managing stock visibility, and influencing trading decisions that directly impact online sales and profitability.
Working closely with eCommerce, Buying, Supply Chain and Leadership teams, you'll become the go-to expert for trading performance, forecasting, reporting, stock optimisation and seasonal planning.
The Role
As Senior eCommerce Trading Merchandiser, you will take ownership of eCommerce trading performance, leveraging data and customer insights to improve conversion, sales, stock availability and overall commercial results.
You'll monitor trading activity daily, identify trends and opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations that help maximise revenue across the online channel.
Key responsibilities will include:
  • Monitoring daily, weekly and monthly online trading performance against KPIs.
  • Producing insightful reports and dashboards covering sales, conversion, traffic, product performance and stock availability.
  • Analysing customer, product and category performance to identify growth opportunities.
  • Leading forecasting and trading planning activities around key seasonal events and peak trading periods.
  • Working closely with Buying and Supply Chain teams to ensure optimal stock availability and minimise lost sales opportunities.
  • Tracking stock levels, sell-through rates and inventory performance across product categories.
  • Identifying slow-moving products and recommending promotional or commercial actions.
  • Supporting pricing, promotional and merchandising strategies through data-led decision making.
  • Delivering actionable insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Managing eCommerce trading calendars and seasonal trading plans.
  • Monitoring competitor activity, market trends and customer purchasing behaviours.
  • Collaborating with Marketing teams to align campaigns with trading priorities and stock availability.
  • Driving continuous improvements across reporting, forecasting and eCommerce processes.
About You
We're looking for an analytical and commercially focused eCommerce trading professional who enjoys working with data and can confidently translate numbers into business actions.
You'll already have experience within an eCommerce-led retail or FMCG business and understand the complexities of seasonal trading, product demand and stock management.
You'll bring:
  • Minimum 3 years' dedicated experience in an eCommerce Trading, eCommerce Merchandising or Digital Trading role.
  • Previous experience gained within an FMCG, consumer goods or retail organisation.
  • Strong understanding of eCommerce trading principles, online merchandising and commercial performance management.
  • Experience working within a business that operates around seasonal trading peaks and annual trading cycles.
  • Advanced analytical and reporting skills with the ability to interrogate large data sets.
  • Experience using Google Analytics, Shopify and Brightpearl operating systems would be beneficial
