About the Role:
As a Production Operative, you will support the smooth running of the production line, ensuring products are assembled accurately and on time. You will work to clearly defined targets, follow established processes, and play a key role in maintaining quality and safety standards. This is a hands-on role where attention to detail and a proactive approach are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate within a production/assembly environment to complete tasks in line with daily targets.
- Assemble components accurately and efficiently, following work instructions and diagrams.
- Carry out visual checks and basic quality control on finished and in-process products.
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times, including correct use of PPE and safe working practices.
- Record simple production data and counts using basic numeracy skills.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised work area to support efficient production flow.
- Communicate any issues, defects, or delays promptly to supervisors and support basic problem-solving on the line.
- Work to a consistent pace to meet deadlines and support overall production output.
Key Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on producing consistent, high-quality work.
- Awareness of health and safety in a manufacturing or similar environment.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills to follow instructions and complete simple records.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to the required shift patterns.
- Good time management skills and the ability to work to targets and deadlines.
- Willingness to follow set processes and work as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work either the dayshift (7:00am 3:30pm, Monday to Friday) or the 2-shift pattern as required.
- Pay is £13 an hour for dayshift, £15.50 for 2 shift
Desirable Skills (not essential) :
- Previous experience in a production, manufacturing, or assembly role.
- Experience working to individual or team-based production targets.
- Familiarity with basic quality control checks and procedures.
- Experience working with hand tools or simple machinery.
Qualifications:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths are beneficial.
- Any basic health and safety or manual handling training is an advantage.
- On-the-job training will be provided, so a strong willingness to learn is essential.
