Project Manager - Grid, Solar & BESS Infrastructure
Our
client is seeking a driven Project Manager to lead the delivery of major energy infrastructure projects across the UK, managing schemes from design and construction through to commissioning and handover.

Key Requirements:

  • 3-5+ years' experience delivering electrical infrastructure projects
  • Experience within ICP, EPC, utilities, Solar or BESS environments
  • Strong knowledge of HV/LV systems and grid connections
  • Commercial and stakeholder management experience
  • SMSTS, CSCS and Full UK Driving Licence
  • Regular travel across the UK will be required.

Project Leadership

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of HV/LV, Solar PV and BESS infrastructure projects
  • Develop and manage detailed project programmes alongside our in-house planning team
  • Coordinate design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover activities
  • Drive project performance against safety, quality, programme and commercial objectives
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects within a wider portfolio environment
  • Lead project teams to deliver outstanding results

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary client interface throughout project delivery
  • Build strong relationships with DNOs, IDNOs, developers, consultants and supply chain partners
  • Lead project meetings, progress reviews and delivery workshops
  • Provide clear reporting and project updates to clients and senior leadership

Technical Delivery

  • Oversee installation, testing, commissioning and energisation activities
  • Lead engagement with DNOs including Northern Powergrid and other network operators
  • Coordinate grid connection approvals and energisation programmes
  • Ensure technical compliance with project specifications and industry requirements

Commercial Management

  • Take ownership of project budgets, forecasting and cost control
  • Manage variations, change control and contractual obligations
  • Monitor commercial performance and project profitability
  • Identify and mitigate project risks to protect programme and commercial outcomes

Continuous Improvement

  • Challenge existing processes and ways of working where improvements can be made
  • Raise concerns when projects, programmes or processes are not performing as expected
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality and delivery performance
  • Promote a culture of accountability, ownership and solution-focused thinking
