Project Manager - Grid, Solar & BESS Infrastructure
Our client is seeking a driven Project Manager to lead the delivery of major energy infrastructure projects across the UK, managing schemes from design and construction through to commissioning and handover.
Key Requirements:
- 3-5+ years' experience delivering electrical infrastructure projects
- Experience within ICP, EPC, utilities, Solar or BESS environments
- Strong knowledge of HV/LV systems and grid connections
- Commercial and stakeholder management experience
- SMSTS, CSCS and Full UK Driving Licence
- Regular travel across the UK will be required.

Project Leadership
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of HV/LV, Solar PV and BESS infrastructure projects
- Develop and manage detailed project programmes alongside our in-house planning team
- Coordinate design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover activities
- Drive project performance against safety, quality, programme and commercial objectives
- Manage multiple concurrent projects within a wider portfolio environment
- Lead project teams to deliver outstanding results
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary client interface throughout project delivery
- Build strong relationships with DNOs, IDNOs, developers, consultants and supply chain partners
- Lead project meetings, progress reviews and delivery workshops
- Provide clear reporting and project updates to clients and senior leadership
Technical Delivery
- Oversee installation, testing, commissioning and energisation activities
- Lead engagement with DNOs including Northern Powergrid and other network operators
- Coordinate grid connection approvals and energisation programmes
- Ensure technical compliance with project specifications and industry requirements
Commercial Management
- Take ownership of project budgets, forecasting and cost control
- Manage variations, change control and contractual obligations
- Monitor commercial performance and project profitability
- Identify and mitigate project risks to protect programme and commercial outcomes
Continuous Improvement
- Challenge existing processes and ways of working where improvements can be made
- Raise concerns when projects, programmes or processes are not performing as expected
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality and delivery performance
- Promote a culture of accountability, ownership and solution-focused thinking
