A leading UK developer of advanced RF and microwave technology is seeking an experienced Payload Product Assurance Engineer to support the delivery of cutting-edge Space and Defence programmes.

The Role
As Payload Product Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for embedding robust product assurance activities throughout the development, manufacture and delivery of payload and space hardware products.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading product assurance activities across multiple payload and space programmes
- Ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory and industry requirements, including ECSS, ESA and NASA standards
- Supporting engineering, manufacturing and test teams to drive quality throughout the product lifecycle
- Managing non-conformance investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Participating in Non-Conformance Review Boards (NRBs)
- Reviewing and approving quality plans, manufacturing documentation and release records
- Supporting component, material and process selection for space applications
- Participating in design reviews, manufacturing readiness reviews, customer reviews and programme gate reviews
- Maintaining configuration control, traceability and programme documentation
- Monitoring quality metrics and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
- Supporting supplier quality activities, audits and compliance reviews
About You
We're looking for an experienced Product Assurance, Quality Assurance or Reliability professional with experience working within highly regulated engineering environments.
You will ideally have:
- Degree qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Physics, Quality or a related discipline
- Experience in Product Assurance, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Quality or Reliability Engineering
- Experience supporting complex electronic, RF, aerospace, defence or space products
- Knowledge of quality management systems and non-conformance management processes
- Strong experience conducting root cause investigations and implementing corrective actions
- Understanding of PCB manufacturing, electronic assemblies and aerospace quality standards
- Familiarity with ECSS, ESA or NASA standards
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

- Satellite, payload or wider space programme experience
- AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality systems knowledge
- Configuration management experience
- FMEA and risk management experience
- Qualification and acceptance testing exposure
- Supplier quality management experience
- Customer and supplier audit experience
