Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Redcar
Salary: £46,460 per annum - Inclusive of Shift Allowance
Shift Pattern: 2 Days / 2 Nights / 4 Off (7am7pm / 7pm7am)
The Opportunity
A leading UK industrial and processing organisation is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join its engineering team at a modern production facility in Redcar.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive maintenance professional to play a key role in maximising plant availability, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and engineering excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure high levels of operational availability through effective planned and reactive maintenance activities.
- Diagnose equipment faults and carry out repairs efficiently, minimising production downtime.
- Develop and deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and inspection programmes.
- Analyse recurring equipment issues and implement engineered solutions to improve reliability.
- Carry out maintenance and repair work on plant machinery and associated equipment.
- Liaise with external contractors to coordinate specialist maintenance and repair activities.
- Support continuous improvement projects across the site.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, environmental compliance, and engineering best practice.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are accurately documented and recorded.
Essential Skills & Experience
- NVQ Level 3 Engineering qualification (electrical bias preferred).
- Experience maintaining production or manufacturing machinery.
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience working with:
- PLC-controlled equipment
- Variable Speed Drives (VSDs)
- Relay logic circuits
- Electrical control panels
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced engineering environment.
- Strong commitment to health and safety standards.
