A well-established manufacturing business in North Shields is seeking a motivated and reliable Production Operative to join its growing team. The Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring products are produced safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out manufacturing and assembly tasks to agreed quality and production standards.
- Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and contribute to the development of new procedures where required.
- Operate, monitor, and clean production machinery, assembly equipment, and hand-held tools.
- Conduct quality checks and basic testing throughout the manufacturing process.
- Escalate production issues and collaborate with relevant teams to identify solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of materials used, defects identified, and scrapped materials.
- Ensure production targets and customer requirements are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards, keeping work areas clean, organised, and free from hazards.
- Store and handle raw materials and finished goods safely within the factory environment.
- Operate lifting equipment and forklift trucks where trained and authorised.
- Adhere to all health, safety, quality, and operational procedures.
- Report faulty machinery, equipment issues, or production concerns to supervisors promptly.
- Support continuous improvement activities and contribute to a positive team environment.

Qualifications
- GCSE (or equivalent) Grade A-C / 4-9 in Maths and English.
- Additional qualification in a technical subject would be advantageous.
- Willingness to undertake further vocational and on-the-job training as required.
