The Role

The Specifications Technologist will play a key role in managing and maintaining accurate product specifications, ensuring all documentation complies with customer, legal, and company requirements. This position will also support the review of artwork and labelling, respond to customer technical queries, and assist with product certification processes. Comprehensive training will be provided to help the successful candidate thrive in the role.


Key Responsibilities

  • Create, review, and maintain product specifications in line with regulatory and customer standards.

  • Transfer specification data accurately into customer systems and portals.

  • Liaise with customers and suppliers to resolve technical and compliance queries.

  • Support the completion of documentation such as SAQs, allergen statements, and product certifications (e.g., Halal, Kosher, Organic).

  • Check and approve product labels and packaging for compliance.

  • Stay up to date with UK and EU food legislation.

  • Provide technical support to new product development teams.

  • Maintain accurate and compliant technical records and site documents.


Skills & Experience

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Confident communication skills for effective liaison with internal and external stakeholders.

  • An interest in food safety, labelling, and regulatory compliance.

  • (Preferred) Experience using specification platforms or retail customer portals.
