Area Sales Manager | Newcastle

We are working on behalf of a growing and well-organisation business seeking an ambitious Business Development Manager to drive growth across Newcastle and the surrounding areas. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded sales professional who thrives on building relationships, identifying opportunities, and closing deals.  While experience within the cable, electrical, or related technical sectors would be advantageous, it is not essential. We are keen to speak with individuals who bring strong business development capability, regardless of sector background.
- Newcastle based + travel 
- Circa £40,000-£45,000 DOE 
- Company car 

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities across the North East region
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation through to negotiation and close
  • Develop strategic territory plans to maximise market penetration and revenue growth
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure excellent service delivery and client satisfaction
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform sales strategy
  • Attend client meetings, networking events, and industry activities across the region

About You

  • Proven experience in a Business Development or Technical Sales role 
  • Strong sales, negotiation, and closing skills with a track record of delivering results
  • Experience of selling into Electrical, Engineering, Generator OEM, Wind Farms and Oil & Gas industries
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and comfortable working autonomously in a field-based role
  • Highly organised with strong commercial awareness
  • Full UK driving licence required
  • Background in cable, electrical, construction, or technical product sectors
  • Experience selling into B2B or trade environments
