Assistant Management Accountant

The Company

A fast-growing, multi-site business with a strong UK presence is looking to appoint an Assistant Management Accountant to join their finance team during an exciting phase of growth and expansion.

This is a hands-on role with responsibility for overseeing day-to-day transactional finance across a multi-site operation. You will work closely with the Management Accountant and senior leadership team, playing a key role in ensuring financial accuracy and supporting the wider finance function.

The Role

As the Assistant Management Accountant, you will take ownership of transactional finance processes, ensuring all financial data is processed accurately, on time, and in line with company controls. The role combines team supervision, process ownership, and technical finance responsibilities.

Candidates with a background in hospitality or similarly fast-paced, high-volume environments are particularly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end transactional finance activity, including Accounts Payable and revenue processes
  • Supervise and support the AP team, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing and supplier reconciliations
  • Manage revenue recognition and daily revenue postings, ensuring system integrations run effectively
  • Complete weekly income reconciliations and investigate discrepancies across multiple sites
  • Produce monthly balance sheet reconciliations relating to revenue
  • Support month-end and year-end close alongside the Management Accountant
  • Maintain and improve financial controls and processes across the transactional function
  • Assist with audits and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures
  • Act as a key point of contact for operational teams, supporting finance-related queries

The Person

What they’re looking for:

  • Proven experience within a transactional finance role (AP, revenue, cash controls)
  • Experience in a multi-site or high-volume environment, ideally hospitality or retail
  • Strong understanding of revenue reconciliation and financial controls
  • Previous experience supervising or mentoring team members
  • Advanced Excel skills with strong attention to detail
  • Proactive and process-driven mindset, with the ability to identify improvements
  • AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA (or actively studying)
