About the Role:
You will be responsible for the efficient picking, packing, and movement of stock using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to maintain accurate inventory records. Working to a fixed shift pattern of 08:00am to 16:00pm, you will help ensure orders are processed correctly and dispatched on time. Your attention to detail and clear communication will be key to maintaining high standards of quality and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick customer orders using handheld scanners and WMS.
- Pack items securely and correctly, following specific packing instructions and labelling requirements.
- Carry out stock control tasks, including stock counts, replenishment, and reporting discrepancies.
- Use the Warehouse Management System to record movements, update stock levels, and track orders.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area in line with warehouse safety procedures.
- Work to daily targets and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality standards.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors and colleagues regarding order issues, stock shortages, or system errors.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment.
- Demonstrated experience in order picking and packing to set targets.
- Practical experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or handheld scanning devices.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Physically able to stand, walk, and lift within reasonable manual handling guidelines for the duration of the shift.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with stock control, cycle counting, or inventory checks.
- Previous work within a fast-paced e-commerce or high-volume distribution environment.
- Familiarity with basic computer systems or data entry related to warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
- Any warehouse, logistics, or manual handling training/certification is advantageous but not essential.
