About the Role:
You will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of goods within the warehouse, including vehicle loading and unloading, pallet racking handling, and small van deliveries. Working across three shifts (7–3, 3–11, 11–7) at £14.57 per hour, you will play a key role in maintaining workflow, stock integrity, and on-time dispatch. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklift trucks to load and unload vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Move, stack, and store pallets within racking systems, ensuring correct placement and stability.
- Secure loads correctly for storage and transport, following site procedures and guidelines.
- Carry out manual handling tasks, including lifting, moving, and positioning goods as required.
- Conduct small van deliveries, ensuring timely and accurate drop-offs to designated locations.
- Support general warehouse operations, including stock movement, staging, and housekeeping.
- Complete basic equipment checks and report any defects or issues promptly.
- Work across rotating shifts (7–3, 3–11, 11–7) to support continuous warehouse operations.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as an FLT driver in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Strong skills in vehicle loading and unloading, including use of pallets and racking.
- Demonstrated understanding of health and safety compliance within warehouse operations.
- Confident in manual handling and working with varying load sizes and weights.
- Full UK driving licence suitable for operating a small van.
- Ability to work rotating shifts (7–3, 3–11, 11–7) reliably and flexibly.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience securing loads for road transport in commercial vehicles.
- Familiarity with working in a fast-paced, high-volume distribution or logistics centre.
- Previous experience with basic warehouse systems or scanners.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift truck licence/certification (counterbalance and/or reach, as applicable).
- GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths or relevant workplace experience.
- Any additional health and safety or manual handling training is an advantage.
