Production Operator – Material Control

Location: Longbenton Contract: Permanent from Day 1 Pay: £13.27 per hour + 15% shift allowance (£15.25 per hour)

About the Role

Our client, a well‑established manufacturing business in Longbenton, is looking to recruit a Production Operator – Material Control to support their warehouse and stores function. This is a key role within a fast‑paced production environment, ensuring materials are handled, tracked and delivered accurately to keep operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Receiving and storing materials including parts, tools and supplies used across manufacturing and operations

• Issuing and delivering materials to the correct departments to support production flow

• Maintaining accurate stock levels through correct transactions, line feeding, booking in and reporting shortages

• Supporting stock take activities including discrepancy investigations and cycle counts

• Ensuring safe handling, correct labelling and accurate tracking of all materials

What We’re Looking For

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Experience in warehouse, stores or material handling (preferred but not essential)

• Ability to work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment

• Good communication and teamwork skills

• Reliable, organised and proactive approach

Shift Pattern

This role operates on a 2‑week rotating shift:

• 2 Weeks Days: 7:00am – 5:00pm (Mon–Thurs)

• 2 Weeks Nights: 2:00pm – 12:00am (Mon–Thurs)

Pay & Benefits

• £13.27 per hour + 15% shift allowance

• Equivalent to £15.25 per hour
