Production Operative Welder (Weld Robot)

Location: Stockton‑on‑Tees
Sector: Precision fabrication & multi‑plate processing

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a well‑established business operating within the precision fabrication and multi‑plate processing industry.

They are seeking a skilled Production Operative Welder to join a highly skilled, dynamic manufacturing environment. This role offers the opportunity to work on varied and technically exciting projects while developing and expanding your skill‑set.

You will work closely with the Fabrication Supervisor and the wider production team to support daily manufacturing operations and maintain high quality and safety standards.


Salary, Hours & Location

  • Starting salary: £12.71 per hour (trainee rate only) up to £14.43 per hour depending on experience (plus shift allowance)
  • Hours: 37 hours per week
  • Shifts: 3‑week rotational shift pattern (day shift, back shift, and night shift)
  • Location: Stockton‑on‑Tees

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow part set‑up sheets and customer work schedules
  • Use hand tools including weld sets and burning equipment to weld heavy‑duty steel parts
  • Complete daily production operations, TPM (Total Preventative/Production Maintenance), and pre‑operation checks
  • Work from engineering drawings to complete tasks accurately
  • Inspect parts to ensure high quality standards are met, including completion of first‑off checks

Additional Duties

  • Inspect all equipment to ensure it is safe and fit for purpose
  • Carry out ad‑hoc duties as requested by your line manager, within the scope of your skills, experience, and role
  • The company will not ask you to undertake tasks outside of your capabilities

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience using a cobot or weld robot is essential
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment is beneficial but not essential
  • Experience working from engineering drawings is beneficial but not essential
  • Comprehensive training will be provided upon commencement
