Central Employment are working with an established Communications and Design agency, as they look to appoint a Junior Digital Designer, as they expand there creative team.
- Newcastle/remote base
- £28,000-£35,000 DOE & quality of portfolio
- Reporting into the Senior Design Manager and Head of Design
Working with high-profile UK and global clients, they need an experienced midweight, multidisciplined designer to bring creative ideas and design skills across a wide range of materials, this would consist of branding, design, digital, and print.
Role:
- Excellent conceptual and design skills including layout, typography, and information design
- Skilled at brand identity an thinking across multiple channels
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Excellent working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Cloud suite; After Effects experience is beneficial
- Working on creative projects involving digital and print deliverables
- Taking ownership of workload, prioritisation, and time management to meet deadlines
- Interpreting a brief and taking a project from concept through to completion
- Liaising with third-party suppliers to gather quotes
- Presenting ideas and designs internally and to clients, including on-location presentations
- Briefing third parties and collaborators such as photographers and illustrators
Experience/Knowledge required:
- Good at problem-solving, highly organised, and detail-orientated
- Willingness to take the initiative, be flexible, and help wherever possible
- Good working knowledge of the print process and preparing print-ready artwork
- Client and project management experience
- Familiarity with AI-assisted design tools and an understanding of how to use them responsibly and ethically within client work
- Understanding of UX/UI principles
- Comfortable working within regulated industry guidelines; experience with MLR (Medical, Legal, Regulatory) review processes
- Minimum 2/3 years' design experience, ideally within an agency environment
