Group Financial Accountant

A well‑established, privately owned organisation is seeking an experienced Group Financial Accountant to join its central finance team. This is a key technical role responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity and compliance of financial reporting across multiple business entities.

The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise, excellent analytical capability and the confidence to work both independently and collaboratively within a small, high‑performing finance function.

About the Role

The Group Financial Accountant will play a central part in delivering timely, accurate and compliant financial information. The position involves oversight of group reporting, statutory accounts, consolidation processes and financial controls.

Key focus areas include:

  • Preparation of monthly group consolidations

  • Production of statutory accounts for multiple entities

  • Management of audit processes and liaison with external auditors

  • Group‑wide balance sheet and control account reconciliations

  • Oversight of intercompany transactions and eliminations

  • Preparation of VAT and other regulatory submissions

  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning cycles

  • Enhancing financial controls, processes and reporting frameworks

  • Providing technical accounting guidance across the group

 

Candidate Profile

This role is suited to a technically strong accountant who enjoys ownership, structure and accuracy. The ideal candidate will be:

  • Fully qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)

  • Experienced in group accounting, consolidations and statutory reporting

  • Confident working with multiple entities and complex financial structures

  • Highly proficient in Excel and modern finance systems

  • Detail‑driven, organised and able to work independently

  • Comfortable improving processes and strengthening financial controls
