Central Employment are looking for a Guillotine Operator to join our client’s team. This is a hands-on role in a production environment, requiring good attention to detail and safe machine operation.
Guillotine Operator
Location: Thornaby on Tees
Shift: 8:00am – 4:00pm (30 min unpaid break)
Pay: £12.71 per hour
Responsibilities:
- Operating guillotine cutting machinery safely and efficiently
- Cutting board and sheet materials to required sizes and specifications
- Reading and interpreting job sheets, cutting lists, and measurements accurately
- Checking material quality before and after cutting
- Ensuring all finished work meets required dimensions and quality standards
- Carrying out routine machine checks and basic maintenance
- Reporting machine faults, material issues, or health and safety concerns promptly
- Maintaining a clean and organised work area
- Handling and moving materials safely in line with manual handling procedures
- Working with production teams to meet daily targets and deadlines
- Following all health and safety procedures at all times
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment (guillotine experience desirable)
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work to measurements and specifications
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Reliable and punctual
