Our client is seeking an exceptional Senior Data Scientist to develop advanced analytical and machine learning solutions for some of the most complex challenges within the defence sector.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop machine learning, statistical and analytical solutions to complex technical challenges
- Translate operational and business problems into structured analytical approaches
- Design, train, validate and optimise predictive and machine learning models
- Work directly with customers and stakeholders to understand requirements and desired outcomes
- Collaborate with software engineers and data engineers to deploy models into production environments
- Communicate findings and technical recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Evaluate emerging methodologies and identify opportunities for innovation
- Support technical leadership across projects and provide mentorship to other engineers
- Contribute to technical proposals, solution design activities and customer engagements
- Work across the complete lifecycle from research and experimentation through to operational deployment
Essential Requirements
- Significant commercial experience within data science, machine learning or advanced analytics
- Strong understanding of statistical modelling, predictive analytics and machine learning techniques
- Proficiency in Python and modern data science tooling
- Experience developing solutions using structured and unstructured data
- Strong understanding of model validation, experimentation and performance measurement
- Experience deploying or operationalising analytical solutions within production environments
- Ability to work directly with customers and stakeholders to define requirements and deliver outcomes
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to tackle ambiguous technical challenges
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex findings clearly
- Demonstrable experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Strong academic achievement in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline
- Eligibility to obtain UK security clearance
