A newly built electronics assembly facility in Northumberland is seeking a Site Operations Leader to lead, optimise, and scale its manufacturing operations. This is a rare opportunity to shape a site from the ground up, driving it toward world-class standards in quality, efficiency, and innovation.

You’ll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production, from SMT and THT lines to manual and automated assembly. Your focus will be on lean manufacturing, zero WIP, and continuous improvement. You’ll also lead the integration of Industry 4.0 technologies, ensuring the site evolves into a benchmark facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations across all production lines
  • Drive lean initiatives and eliminate process waste
  • Ensure compliance with IPC standards and internal quality metrics
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership in PCBA processes
  • Champion digital transformation and smart factory practices
  • Manage budgets, performance metrics, and strategic planning
  • Develop and mentor a high-performing production team

Requirements

  • Degree in Electronics, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • 10+ years in electronics manufacturing, 5+ in leadership
  • Deep knowledge of SMT, THT, and PCBA processes
  • Proven success in lean manufacturing and process optimisation
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Experience with ERP/MES systems and Industry 4.0 technologies
