Machine Operator / Setter
Location: Gateshead
Pay Rate: Starting from £12.01 per hour to £14.37 depending on experience.
One of the UK’s largest and most progressive timber companies with core activities in sawmilling, I-Joist and pallet manufacture.
As part of our clients development plans for the business we are recruiting Machine Operator/Setter based at their Gateshead site. This is an exciting opportunity to work in an expanding company within a pallet processing operation. The successful candidate will be trained to understand how to changeover to and from various product types, troubleshoot minor stoppages & learn how to fully operate the machinery within the factory.
The successful candidate must work the below shift pattern Monday to Friday, overtime will also be as and when required.
Shift Pattern: – 06:20 – 14:30 – 14:20 – 22:30
Responsibilities:
- Operation of production machinery across factory.
- Ability to changeover from various product types on machinery throughout the factory.
- High standard of finished goods quality.
- Maintain and improve of machine output and overall efficiencies alongside other team members.
- Once fully trained be able to train other team members on machinery.This list is not exhaustive. All employees are expected to undertake all reasonable requests necessary for the successful completion of their duties.
Essential Knowledge, skills, and experience, you should be able to demonstrate the following:
- Have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes & systems, with machine operation and setting background.
- Good practical understanding of H&S.
- Well-organised and conscious with a flexible approach.
- Good time-management.
- Willingness to learn & train others.
The successful candidate must have the ability to communicate fluently in English as well as comprehend written instructions. You must be able to prove that you are eligible to work in the UK.
