Central Employment are looking for a Despatch team leader to manage 20 staff in a busy warehouse based in Newburn.
Duties Include:
Assist in the supervision of the daily running of picking warehouse and associated systems. Assist with managing a team of 10-20 staff (pickers & packers) and ensure efficient operational processes are followed.
Manage a busy despatch department & plan to ensure all orders are despatched daily OTDIF.
Deputise for management during periods of Holiday/Absence
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Ensure all relevant staff are trained in the Quality Manual, GDP practices and relevant SOP’s
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
Managing the day to day activities of the Warehousing Team under direction from Assistant Warehouse Manager & or the Warehouse Manager.
Ensure all items are assigned to pickers and that the orders are picked and packed accurately.
Manage the replenishment of all stocks on a daily basis to ensure orders can be fulfilled in a timely manner.
Monitor and control consumables (boxes/tape/flow wrap etc.) to ensure a supplies always available to the packing teams.
Have a good knowledge of using a courier system (DHL) including sending international consignments.
Record any lateness and absence issues.
Understand and monitor health and safety compliance using the CVS Safety Hub to provide a safe working environment.
Ensuring all members of the Warehouse Team are trained and capable in carrying out their duties.
Assist in the Biannual Stock takes over a weekend (Jan / July)
Ensure relevant staff are trained to full GDP standards.
Assist in implementing continuous improvement initiatives in warehouse and IT initiatives.
Ensuring warehousing best practice is maintained and performance monitored and efficient and accurate.
Liaising with internal departments as Customer Service, Health & Safety.
Be a main key holder opening and locking the premises on a daily basis, call outs could occur on occasions.
