Central Employment are delighted to be supporting a global manufacturer of bespoke filtration products and solutions based in the North East.  They have an opportunity for UK Sales Engineer (Filtration Solutions).  Reporting into the Country Manager and working within the Applications and Cleanroom team, the successful Sales Engineer will be a pivotal part of project managing clients air filtration solutions, specifically within the Pharmaceutical and Biotech industries.  

The successful Sales Engineer can be based anywhere in the UK, but would be expected to attend regular sales meetings from my clients North East HQ. Due to the nature of the role and business requirements, you will cover the whole of the UK and Ireland, so you must be flexible to travel with regular overnight stays.

Main responsibilities of the UK Sales Engineer: 

  • Responsible for effective development and execution of the technical sales plans, achievement of sales targets as well as applicable market monitoring, analysis, and reporting;;
  • Work closely with the country manager in order to launch new products and ensuring projected sales targets are achieved;
  • In-house commercial expert for value added product applications;  Close coordination with product management to create and/or modify products for end users needs
  • Collaborate with technical staff in the development of a training strategy designed to continuously improve technical sales/application skills;
  •  In-house commercial expert for value added product applications;
  •  May be called upon to guide, teach, and assist other sales professionals in product applications;
  • Drives growth through market share expansion and increased volumes by effectively utilizing the strength of the portfolio by selling air filtration solutions and creating repeatable sales opportunities.
  • Monthly reporting to the business leader and frequent communication;
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to use drawing software
  • Demonstrating Product Management Skills
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office, mainly Word, Excel, Power point;
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
  • A background from a technical sales and project management role
  • Worked within a similar sector – Filtration Solutions, Pharma, Biotech, capital equipment
  • This position is for a hands-on, experienced ‘technical’ business leader with responsibilities ranging across traditional positions of Country Managers, Sales Representative, Business Development, and Product Management resources;
  • Experienced in developing indirect and direct channels in a mature market;
  • Desire experience in selling and supporting a value added product portfolio;
  • Successful experience with high value added product selling, pricing, negotiating, and channel management;
  • Experienced in making a transition from a product sale to a solution sale;
  • Successful sales track record. Must be used to working within sales teams. Understands the importance of the local culture, while maintaining a global awareness and knowledge of the key account management system;
  • Experience of dealing with multi-national customers;
  • Ability to manage and service accounts over a broad and diverse geographical area;
  • A history of consistently delivering on expectations for growth and profitability must be demonstrated;
  • A master at diplomacy with excellent listening skills, yet without lacking in drive to move things forward;
