Central Employment are delighted to be supporting an award-winning manufacturing and distribution firm who are seeking an eCommerce Director.  Reporting into the General Manager, the successful eCommerce Director will have a proven track record in B2C multi-channel marketing, web marketplace sales and be a hands on motivator.  

Purpose of the eCommerce Director: 

To drive expansion of all E-Commerce & Online Sales platforms through new innovative functionality, wider market penetration, customer retention growth and Internationalisation. To ensure all platforms are operating to maximum effectiveness and profitability.

Responsibilties of the Ecommerce Director: 

  • To deliver the consolidated budgets and forecasts for all platforms
  • Identify and secure the resources and marketing required to deliver these budgets
  • To lead the E-Commerce, Web Sales teams
  • To launch and own overall responsibility for the website across selected territories, maintaining strong relationship and workflow/roadmap with external provider
  • Drive conversion rates to meet agreed trading targets in line with domestic and international industry benchmarks through continual onsite and user testing
  • Develop onsite merchandising, personalisation and navigation to support high customer conversion and retention rates
  • Oversee the setting and management of prices and promotional activities to ensure a robust performance, ensuring activity is profitable and aligned to the budget strategy
  • Overall responsibility for Acquisition to hit required KPIs through efficient spending across all existing key digital channels, whilst identifying new channels to grow traffic
  • To develop and maintain a CRM system with the Marketing team to drive repeat sales and increase customer retention through personalised, targeted, timely content
  • Drive the Marketing team to identify opportunities for brand awareness at business-related events/conferences and oversee activity for new Tenders
  • Manage sales and profit information to ensure all commercial opportunities are fully exploited both online and offline
  • Improve customer satisfaction and company NPS by driving Customer Services to successfully and efficiently deal with all customer contacts
  • Continual monitoring and suggestions for changes to Operational improvements relating to Production, Delivery and Returns, maintaining strong relationship with Ops Manager
  • Drive International expansion through new languages and new dedicated E-Commerce teams where required
  • To investigate and launch new payment methods across platforms to drive incremental sales
  • Monitor industry E-Commerce trends and competitors’ performance to maximise sales development opportunities

Experience required:

  • Experience in a B2C E-Commerce/Online Marketing role
  • Hands on experience of site management and online marketing/aqusition channels specifically PPC
  • Management/Exposure to Customer Services and Sales
  • Experience of developing people and managing talent
  • Exposure to a fast paced online trading environment
  • Experience of working effectively with external partners
  • Can manage, analysis £m digital marketing budgets
  • Commercial knowledge and expertise
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
