Central Employment are currently seeking a Hygiene Operative on behalf of a busy food manufacturer based in Team Valley, Gateshead. As Hygiene Operative you will be responsible for a variety of tasks from sweeping and cleaning to disassembling production belts and machinery, deep cleaning to a very high standard.
Responsibilities
- Cleaning to a very high standard, ensuring all machinery is free from contamination
- Observing Food Hygiene Standards
- Report any damage discovered whilst cleaning, including damage to belts, machinery or equipment
- Ensure that all production waste is removed and disposed of appropriately
- Make sure all appropriate documentation is signed once all cleaning tasks have been completed
- Check that chemicals are used in correct dosages and for the appropriate cleaning tasks
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience of Hygiene Cleaning
- Prepared to work night shifts
- Able to understand and implement Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Capable of working independently or as part of a team
- Understanding of site hygiene and Health & Safety
- Good attention to detail
- Previous experience with cleaning chemicals and COSHH procedures
Rate of pay
£9.50 p/hr rising to £12.26 after 12 weeks for night shifts, or £10.88 for back shifts.
Shift times & days
Monday to Thursday, 10pm-6am and Fridays, 3pm-9pm (possible weekends)
