Central Employment is looking to recruit a Payroll Manager to join their clients busy payroll department in Darlington. The role will also benefit from a Hybrid policy allowing the successful candidate to work from home 2 days a week.

Responsibilities:

  •  To provide an effective and efficient end to end payroll service
  • To review the work of the payroll team and ensure this is accurate.
  • To undertake larger payroll duties.
  • Liaise with clients on payroll matters
  • To ensure that payroll activities meet legislative and statutory requirements

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have high volume payroll experience gained in a payroll bureau.  Practice experience is essential.
  • Proven experience within a payroll Supervisor/Manager role.
  • Strong people management skills
  • Have working knowledge of payroll legislation and implementation of auto enrolment
  • Have strong communication skills
  • Be extremely organised
  • Be able to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Be a team player
  • Have strong IT skills including Excel and Word
  • Experience of using Sage
