Central Employment are recruiting an Operational Standards Manager to join the team located in Cramlington. The successful candidate will identify, develop the appropriate, Health, Safety & Environmental strategy, policy and process for the site employees.

Role Summary

  • Responsible for implementing the companies operational Health and Safety strategy in accordance with guidelines
  • Enable compliance with all business-wide policy and strategy through management system audits
  • Ensure up to date schedule for necessary and appropriate audits is maintained
  • Accountable for co-ordinating / reviewing activities including to conduct, review and provide guidance on risk assessments, method statements and standard operating procedures
  • Support managers with investigations into operational health and safety accidents
  • Ensure systems / processes are implemented and reflect the intentions of the client
  • Ensure appropriate day-to-day support and guidance to the team, supply partners and the client on the provision of guidance and practical expertise on operational Health and Safety standards
  • Support the delivery of training strategy to enable standards of competence to be achieved and maintained
  • Responsible for implementing the EHS SN modules for on site employee’s, including area of supplier management
  • Responsible for the implementation of the HRW work and its prior planning
  • Create and update the operational risk portfolio
  • Sett operational Health and Safety goals for the site operations
  • Support Site Manager in regular and in-house communication regarding operational Health and Safety
  • Participation in safety inspections, creation and tracking of action plan arising from safety inspections
  • Complete Health and Safety training with new employees
  • Regular checks and evaluation of work permits and associated work instructions
  • Monthly capturing of EHS relevant metrics
  • Support effective business communication through advice, review and direct contribution to management and team meetings
  • Manage client relationships at operational level that provide performance assurances

 Experience Required

  • NEBOSH National Diploma or NEBOSH General Certificate, NEBOSH Fire Certificate, NEBOSH Environmental Certificate
  • ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 or OSHA.
  • Implementation and monitoring of policy and process
  • Practical application of auditing
  • Monitoring and Analysis of management system performance
  • Accident / Hazard investigation & analysis
  • Development and delivery of Health and Safety training
  • PC Literate
  • GAP Analysis
  • Report writing
  • Health and Safety regulations, Quality systems including GMP
  • Self Starter
  • Team player
  • Leadership skills
