The Company The company is based in Consett, County Durham, and specializes in the reverse engineering of rotating equipment. We service and repair a variety of pumps for blue-chip customers in the UK and abroad, from multi-stage, high-pressure units to small, over-hung end suction pumps. We are at an exciting point in our development and, due to considerable growth, require a CNC Miller to join our busy machining team.

Job Summary
Central Employment is seeking a skilled CNC Miller to join a leading company in the reverse engineering sector. Reporting directly to the Machine Shop Supervisor, you will be responsible for producing components from drawings using Mazak CNC machines. Working with tolerances up to 0.02mm, the suitable applicant must be fully conversant in both metric and imperial measurements. The successful candidate will work as part of a small team that handles a great variety of components in the Machine Shop. Strong teamwork and machining capability are essential to achieve the best results in a growing business. The successful candidate will be a time-served Machinist.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Time-served CNC Miller with experience of Mazak programming is essential.
  • Experience on horizontal borer with Fagor controls would be an advantage.
  • Timely production of parts to pre-determined deadlines.
  • Produce work to the highest quality standard to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Work within British Standards as per company procedures.
  • Support internal teams to get to the root cause of specific issues.
  • Participate in specialist or multi-disciplinary team activities.

  • Salary: £29,013.92 (£15.08 per hour) plus 25% shift premium after successful completion of probationary period.
  • Hours: 37 Hours per week
    • Day Shift (during probationary period):
      • Monday to Thursday (07:30 – 16:00)
      • Friday (07:30 – 12:30)
    • Shift Pattern (after probationary period):
      • Day Shift: Monday to Thursday (06:00 – 14:00), Friday (06:00 – 13:30)
      • Back Shift: Monday to Wednesday (13:45 – 23:45), Thursday (13:45 – 22:45)
  • Pension: 3% Company Contribution
